NetJets: Hospitality suite at The Open

The challenge

NetJets, world-renowned providers of private aircraft solutions, are partners to the R&A, and as such entertain guests in their hospitality suite at the Open Championship. As a business where first-class hospitality means everything, they needed their suite to reflect their premium service and values. Pb, who are contracted by the R&A to design and complete the interior fit out of Origins Hospitality and their Partner suites, knew it had to be perfect to meet the exacting demands of NetJets, a challenge we were more than happy to meet. During our initial meetings we discovered that NetJets are an open, approachable, decisive and responsive client, which meant that we could move to the solution with confidence and at pace.

The solution

The brief was to create a lounge space that would be comfortable for the guests throughout the day, with a mix of seating styles, from bar, to dining, to lounge. They needed a 4m bar, along with buffet counter space, reception and storeroom. Together we designed a space that included different ‘zones’ without breaking up the sightlines; making sure the space felt light and airy, yet cosy and private if required. The design was built around three key features: an awning along one wall that defined the dining space but was still part of the overall environment, a bar that was positioned so it was visible from everywhere and placed for efficient access, and finally the placement of the storeroom helped define the reception area and provide a cosy nook that was quiet and private.

The outcome

This was a real labour of love for our team, from initial sketches and moodboards, through to completion - and it paid off, the space looked stylish and premium, and created the right environment for NetJets’ guests to enjoy their experience at this leading golf event to the full.

NetJets had these kind words to say:
'The feedback from clients has been overwhelmingly positive; I’ve been with NetJets a little over 8 years now and I have never seen so much feedback come through so quickly from an event we have done. All saying how incredible the space was, noting the tiny details, the furniture quality, the smaller touches and how it was the best hospitality they had ever been to. Our team also felt so proud to be in that space and welcome our clients in the way that we are so accustomed to at our other events and this space did not disappoint.

More than any of that though, it was so wonderful to work with such a great group of people. It felt lovely to be welcomed with open arms, into the community of well-established partners and a group who have been working together so closely for many years. You were all so incredibly helpful and nothing was ever too much trouble.
